Following the successful visit of President Hugo
Chavez to London, Lambeth Association suported the establishment of local
support group of the Venezuela Information Centre (VIC).
On 14th June, local trade unionists and others turned
out to see a showing of the amazing documentary ' The Revolution will not be
Televised', an account of the failed CIA backed coup in April 2002.
Bernard Regan of NUT and Francisco Dominguez from VIC
explained the background of the Venezuelan revolution and the successes, most
notably in education and health.
More local activity is planned for the
future. |
